It’s tempting to go for the first removalist that you come in to contact with. The best thing is to obtain quotes from at least three different companies. This doesn’t only ensure that you find value for money, but gives you the opportunity to ask different questions. This is also a good opportunity to check what exactly is included in the quote, how your items are going to be transported, timescales and the amount of people on the job. You can also ask what to expect on the day and if boxes and packaging are included. Importantly find out what happens if there is any damage and insurance cover. Ultimately you decide on the price and service that you are comfortable with after you’ve been presented with all the information.
Check credentials
A good removalist will be able to show you that they are licensed for interstate removals and that they are experienced. You can also look for partnerships with any other recognisable companies that demonstrate they’re a reputable and trustworthy company. Pay attention to their specialty, not every company will do interstate or international removals and similarly some might not deal in commercial moves. Look at the experience in the type of move you are planning on taking.
Transparent charging
Avoid additional fees by checking that a quote has a clear breakdown of costs. It should state that there are no additional fees or that they are clear when additional fees might occur. Things to look for are what is covered in the quote such as boxes, packaging any taxes or fees. Avoid quotes that don’t give you specific details on where your money will be spent. There might be something in there that you don’t need or is not necessary for your type of move. Make sure you a have a good look at the details.
